Netflix Guilt

I can certainly understand this article about Netflix. I've certainly had my share of DVDs sit in their envelopes for weeks (ok, sometimes months) unwatched.

I'm certainly a Netflix fan. I'm generally happy with their service, and have had it for a couple of years. And there have been some stretches when I've been returning them as quickly as I've got them. Some of it is that it's nice to have a large library of additional DVDs. I almost look at it as "DVD purchase insurance". And if you look at it that way, you're getting the value out of your Netflix subscription if it means that you are buying fewer DVDs than you would otherwise -- and at the cost of a subscription, that's only one DVD a month.

I'm really only going to buy the things that I really, really want to always have on hand. Sometimes putting something on a Netflix queue (or an Amazon Wish List) is as good as actually buying it.

Of course, it would be nice to get through some of those items on the queue....
